Tom Reed, the "Garlic Guru"
What can I say? Garlic Chef
(Guru) Tom Reed's show
stinks! From one end of the
country to the other he can
be found chopping, mincing,
smashing, crushing, and
wielding his "garlic weenie"
to peel and pulverize the
fragrant bulbs that are the
stock of his trade. For the
last few years he has been
wowing standing room only
crowds with his humorous
anecdotes, tasty recipes,
growing tips and "bulb ball"
games.
Garlic's amazing
medicinal properties as well
as its' delicious taste has
led to its' ever increasing
popularity. Increasingly,
doctors & researchers the
world over are confirming
what the Chinese have known
for 4000 years; garlic is an
effective weapon against
heart disease, cholesterol,
parasites and many forms of
cancer. It helps protect
plants and pets from fleas,
is made into soaps and
shampoos and of course is an
ingredient in innumerable
delicious dishes. It is also
fat free! What other plant
can lay claim to so may
attributes?
The Garlic Guru
is always on the
road extolling the
wonders of garlic to
all who will listen.
His goal is to
entertain while
educating his
audience about the
wonders of this
miraculous bulb. Tom
began his public
career as a "garlic
chef" in Macy's
Cellar in San
Francisco in 1988.
Since then he has
made appearances
coast to coast on a
regular basis. From
cavorting with
Barney the Beagle on
morning TV in
Indianapolis to
appearances with
Garry Meier on the
Morning Show in
Chicago, the Crook &
Chase show in Los
Angeles, and Good
Morning America.
Home & Garden shows,
medical centers,
Flower Shows, Food
shows, craft shows,
Festivals, and
Corporate Shows are
just a few of the
other venues Tom can
be found preaching
the Garlic Gospel.
Always an upbeat,
funny, informative,
and wacky guest on
both TV and radio,
the Garlic Guru with
his ever present
garlic bulb hat is
also very
picturesque.
